Bank On Louisville partnered with the Kroger Company from July 2023 to June 2024 to extend financial empowerment services across the city.
Bank On partnered with Kroger to provide outreach at Kroger Mobile Market locations in areas that have limited access to fresh food. This outreach occurred from July to October 2023 and again from March to June 2024. Customers of these markets had the opportunity to access various financial empowerment services such as financial education, connection to safe and affordable bank accounts, and the opportunity to schedule financial counseling sessions.
During the colder winter months of November 2023 to March 2024, the Bank On team continued to provide financial empowerment services to Kroger customers with in-store outreach. Kroger customers were connected to resources including Bank On Certified bank accounts, services like financial counseling through Louisville’s Financial Empowerment Center, and information about free tax preparation through the Louisville Asset Building Coalition’s VITA program.
By the conclusion of the partnership, 77 outreach sessions had been provided by trained financial counselors, with a total of 638 Kroger customers engaging with Bank On tabling.
